BLACKPINK’s Comeback Title Song is Called ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ … Written•Composed by TEDDY

YG's Girl group ‘BLACKPINK’ is making comeback with their first mini album, and its title song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’.

Today (4th) at 10 AM, YG Entertainment posted a teaser image which notified that the title song from BLACKPINK’s first mini album ‘SQUARE UP’ being released on the 15th is called ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, through their official blog. The teaser image in a black background with a pink square with the name ‘BLACKPINK’ engraved gathers the viewers’ attention with colors that represent BLACKPINK in harmony. Furthermore, the image excited the fans by revealing the name of the first and title track, ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’.

The title song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ was written by TEDDY, the hit-maker that worked on all releases by BLACKPINK since debut, and was composed by TEDDY, 24, R.Tee, and Bekuh Boom. The onomatopoeic title ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ is raising curiosities as well.

BLACKPINK’s first mini album ‘SQUARE UP’ has the meaning of ‘Let’s fight’ and ‘Let’s verse one another’. It portrays the message of ‘Let’s confidently square up’. ‘SQUARE UP’ is one of BLACKPINK’s ‘SQUARE’ series released since debut, and continues the legacy of their debut album ‘SQUARE ONE’ and their second album ‘SQUARE TWO’.

After making debut on August 8, 2016 with their debut songs ‘WHISTLE’ and ‘BOOMBAYAH’, following up with their second album ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’ and ‘STAY’ to ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ released last year, BLACKPINK consistently swept music charts with every song they ever released.

The MV for ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ renewed the previous record of ‘BOOMBAYAH’ last month, becoming the fastest MV by a girl group to surpass 300 million views.

Furthermore, BLACKPINK set a milestone by achieving over 100 million views for all MV releases, with ‘WHISTLE’ and ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’ at 200 million views and ‘STAY’ surpassing 100 million views.
