JENNIE → MINO → 29 Trainees… New Boy Group Survival program: YG’s Treasure Box

From BLACKPINK's JENNIE’s to WINNER's Mino solo debut to a new boy group, YG’s treasure box is literally opening. The music fans are more excited than ever.
YG’s treasure box will open in relay. Starting with JENNIE’s solo debut, WINNER’s member MINO will release his first solo album, while YG will also launch a new boy group. The music fans all over the world are looking forward to the continuous releases coming up from the ‘YG Treasure Box’.

This year was exceptionally filled with activities by YG artists. iKON scored consecutive hits by making three comebacks, while WINNER is also expected to bring ‘good news’ in the end of the year. The expectations by fans are rising as YG’s representative producer YANG HYUN SUK is revealing comeback plans by the artists himself.

The active plans by YG artists for November are also expected to present joy for music fans.

BLACKPINK’s JENNIE will notify the start of YG’s golden line-up during the end of the year. JENNIE will release her first solo track ‘SOLO’ next month on the 12th for a new project by BLACKPINK. She is planning to perform ‘SOLO’ during BLACKPINK’s first-ever solo concert in Korea to be held next month on the 10th and 11th.

BLACKPINK will be able to present new charms by JENNIE through her solo debut, different from what she used to show as BLACKPINK. JENNIE has been practicing her skills for years at YG Entertainment as a trainee, to display her various charms as a member of BLACKPINK. Her upcoming solo track will be a Hip-Hop song incorporating elements of Pop music, which presents JENNIE’s twofold charms as a young girl and a strong woman.

Along with JENNIE, WINNER’s MINO will release his first solo album ‘XX’ on November. As he has presented diversified music through ‘Show Me The Money 4’ and MOBB, people are wondering what kind of music will be filling up MINO’s first-ever solo album.

MINO has previously presented his solo track titled ‘I’M HIM’ on WINNER’s debut album, as the rapper for WINNER. He also appealed his ambient and sexy charms with his solo track titled ‘BODY’ back in 2016, while the song written by MINO titled ‘TURN OFF THE LIGHT’ listed on WINNER’s 2nd album released on April received positive reviews from the listeners. His upcoming solo album is expected to present MINO’s matured fulfilment in musicality.

The team that will follow up to JENNIE and MINO’s solo activities is a new boy group of YG Entertainment. Representative YANG HYUN SUK has announced the launching of YG’s new boy group himself on the 29th, gathering high expectations. He revealed all 29 male trainees of YG, notifying the full-scale opening of ‘YG Treasure Box’.

Representative YANG HYUN SUK stated that he will launch a new boy group member selection program titled, ‘YG Treasure Box’, next month on the 16th. It will be a survival program to select new members for a group that will continue on the legacy of BIGBANG, WINNER, and iKON. The program is receiving more attention since all male trainees of YG will be revealed through the program.

There are 29 male trainees in YG, from ages 14 to 19. The viewers’ reviews and selections will be monitored to be applied to the selection criteria, and the program will eventually launch a new boy group composed of approximately 5 members. It will be YG’s new generation boy group that follows the legacy of BIGBANG, WINNER, and iKON.

As YG announces to launch a new boy group along with new releases on November, YG will continue to ‘work hard’ until the end of 2018.
