On September 7, Billboard announced its list of YouTube’s Top 25 Songs of the Summer. BLACKPINK’s “As If It’s Your Last” was on the list, proving the group’s popularity.
Other artists on the list are Luis Fonsi, who music video posted three billion views for the first time in the history of YouTube, and Ed Sheeran, who was on Billboard’s top 10 singles chart for the longest time.
BLACKPINK is the only Korean act on the list, demonstrating its strong presence on the global stage.
“As If It’s Your Last” is one of BLACKPINK’ mega hit songs, and the song surpassed 100 million views in just 46 days, a new record for a K-pop idol group.
BLACKPINK only debuted a year ago, but the group already has four music videos that surpassed the 100 million view mark: “BOOMBAYAH”, “WHISTLE”, “PLAYING WITH FIRE” and “As If It’s Your Last”. Expectations are running high for BLACKPINK and how far the group will go.
BLACKPINK is currently promoting its album in Japan. Upon release, BLACKPINK’s Japan debut album topped Oricon’s daily and weekly charts and Tower Records chart.
