BLACKPINK confirmed comeback with “SQUARE TWO” on November 1

YG Entertainment’s latest “WHO’S NEXT” image has turned out to be for YG's girl group BLACKPINK.

On October 20 at 11AM, YG released a poster that announces BLACKPINK’s comeback on the company’s official blog (www.yg-life.com), to draw keen attention. The poster says that BLACKPINK will release “SQUARE TWO” on November 1.

BLACKPINK released debut single “SQUARE ONE” on August 8, to make an unprecedentedly successful debut with “WHISTLE” and “BOOMBAYAH”, the double title tracks of the album that created sensation.

Notably, “WHISTLE” stayed in No.1 on charts for about a month, sweeping the real-time, daily, and weekly charts of major music-streaming websites in Korea upon its release. BLACKPINK wrote a new history in Korea’s music scene by setting records unprecedented for a rookie singer, such as top rank on six monthly charts and No.1 in a TV music show within 14 days of debut, which is the shortest-ever period of time for a girl group in Korea.

Plus, BLACKPINK enjoyed big popularity overseas, taking No.1 on China’s biggest music-streaming website QQ Music and on the iTunes charts of 14 countries. BLACKPINK also took high places on British Amazon’s ranking and American Billboard chart, to prove their potential for success in the global music scene.

Music fans are paying keen attention to what kind of new talent BLACKPINK’s “SQUARE TWO” will present, after the team’s block-buster debut as the most remarkable rookie for the year 2016 in both domestic and global music scenes.
